Luckey Farmers recently hosted sessions, at our main office, for an agronomy school at the beginning of the year. The purpose was to start the training process for young agronomy sales persons with a focus on corn, soybeans, wheat, small seeds, cover crops and sales call training. We utilized industry resources and guest speakers from Corteva, Syngenta, Bayer and Growmark to facilitate the training. With many participants from Luckey Farmers, Inc, Legacy Co-op, Central Ohio Farmers Co-op Inc, Centerra Co-op, Gerald Grain Company and Ida Farmers Cooperative, we had four different learning sessions.
January 17: Corn College
January 31: Soybean University
February 9: Wheat, Alfalfa, Small Seeds and Cover Crops
February 21: Sales Training and Regulations
These participants not only learned valuable information, but also created networking relationships within different agriculture cooperatives. Our agronomy school ended with some interactive games to identify what the participants had all learned. Everyone walked away with a certificate of completion and the proper knowledge needed to start their agronomy sales career.
