You may have noticed that 2024 has been a busy year at our Lemoyne facility. Earlier this year we broke ground on our facility expansion which includes a 725,000 bushel bin, 20,000 bushel per hour receiving pit, and new inbound and outbound scales that are ready for the 2024 harvest. Additionally, our grain customers are now able to deliver their grain using a state-of-the-art automation process from beginning to end, all without having to get out of their truck!
On September 23, 2024, almost 100 Lemoyne customers attended an open house to get an up-close look at the expansion and learn more about the automation process. Lemoyne Branch Manager, Jeff Kohring, opened up the site for customers to walk through the updated facility and guided them through the new process. Dustin Brown, President & CEO, and Andrew Gladden, Director of IT, discussed the advantages of the automation system and how it will positively affect Lemoyne and its customers. Our Lemoyne facility is currently the third Luckey Farmers location that has installed an automation process to help receive grain. Our Graytown facility was the first to be fully automated followed by the Sugar Ridge facility expansion.
Thank you to all our customers for coming out and showing support to our Lemoyne facility and to the employees who helped make this event happen. We continually look for ways to improve the safety, efficiency, and speed of the customer experience at our facilities. This new process aligns with this mission, and we are excited to see it in action beginning with harvest this fall.
