With harvest just around the corner we want to give all of our farmers a few safety reminders. Before harvest starts make sure that you have the recommended lighting on your tractor and implements, especially when traveling in the early mornings or evenings. Use an escort vehicle when necessary. You should always turn off your tractor before getting off to check or unclog any piece of equipment.
Harvest is a busy time of the year for you and your family, but make sure that you get plenty of rest and breaks. Being alert will help reduce chances of injury. Providing safety training to hired workers will also help keep others safe during harvest. Along with hired hands you may also be working with youth. You should always evaluate the jobs your workers are doing to ensure they are not taking on more responsibility than they are able to accomplish. Always provide training for youth workers prior to doing any work and check in with them on them frequently to check on their progress and safety. Thank you for your business. We look forward to a busy, productive and most of all a safe harvest season.
