National corn crop rating was left unchanged this week at 62% good/excellent. Corn doughing was pegged at 76% and denting was 29%, both behind their five year averages.
The national corn crop rating was left unchanged this week at 62% good/excellent. Corn doughing came in at 86% complete, denting was pegged at 44%, and 6% of the crop is mature all slightly off from their respective averages. Ohio corn dropped one point on the week to 59% g/e. 85% of the Ohio’s crop is in the dough stage, 35% of the crop is dented, and 1% of the crop is mature.
National soybean crop rating came up one point this week at 61% g/e. 93% of the crop is setting pods with 6% of the crop is dropping leaves. Ohio was up two points on the week at a 56% g/e rating.
The Pro Farmer crop tour wrapped up last week. The tour estimated the US corn yield at 167.1 bpa and production of 13.953 billion bushels, below USDA’s figure of 169.5 bpa and 14.153 billion bushels. In soybeans, Pro Farmer pegged the nation at a 48.5 bpa yield and 4.331 billion bushel production. This also came in below USDA’s 49.4 yield and 4.381 production.
