Let’s get to know our summer interns! Our first intern spotlight features Vivian Hinde. Vivian is the agronomy intern at our Berkey branch.
Where are you from?
Blissfield, Michigan
What college are you attending and what are you studying?
I am attending Michigan State University / Monroe County Community College studying Agribusiness Management.
Why did you want to pursue an internship with Luckey Farmers?
I wanted to pursue an internship with Luckey Farmers because I had heard a lot of positive stories about the business. This internship would give me multiple experiences and opportunities in what I am majoring in. As well, my family’s farm has purchased fertilizer from Berkey for many years, so I had known about the business and that it was highly recommended.
Do you have a favorite experience/memory so far?
My favorite experience/memory so far was learning how to drive a forklift. I had never driven one before and I had great teachers. It has been a useful and important aspect in my internship.
Any advice for future agriculture interns?
My advice for future agriculture interns, always do your best. Farmers are the backbone of our country and without agriculture we could not survive. So never be afraid to do something new or different, because in the end you will be proud of what you can accomplish!
Thank you Vivian for all your hard work at Berkey!
