The US corn crop ratings were steady this week at 67% good/excellent. While the Ohio corn rating was up 2 points at 52% good/excellent.
US soybean were pegged at 67% good/excellent, up 1 point on the week. Ohio soybeans are also up 1 point at 58% g/e.
US winter wheat crop condition is down 1 point at 49% good/excellent, compared to 61% g/e last year. The winter wheat crop is 28% harvested nationwide. The market will continue to watch the spring wheat crop ratings, which came in this week at 41% g/e, versus last year’s 76% mark.
Isolated pockets of the Midwest received small amounts of rain over the last 72 hours with the next chance of rain for the Corn Belt to come Thursday/Friday. Cooler temps look to prevail the belt next week.
The USDA will release its Quarterly Grain Stocks and Planted Acreage Report on Friday, June 30.
