Grain bin half filled with corn.
Nationwide has sponsored Grain Bin Safety Week for the last few years and has equipped more than 400 fire departments across the country with grain rescue tubes and training. This year Grain Bin Safety week is February 15-21, 2025. The annual campaign promotes critical grain bin safety practices and emphasizes the importance of rescue equipment and first-responder training in preventing life-threatening grain entrapments.
Nationwide is taking nominations for local fire departments to win one grain rescue tube and one six-hour grain entrapment rescue training session. The Nominate Your Fire Department Contest runs through April 30 and awards hands-on training to help first responders save lives. To date, 452 fire departments across 35 states have received life-saving grain rescue tubes and training through the Grain Bin Safety Week program.
