Every year 2-million Ohioans suffer from food insecurity. Those who are food insecure look to find food at their local shelters, food banks and other non-profit associations that offer food. Within those 2-million there are many families right here at home that are food insecure. Luckey Farmers, as a part of a 33-buyer group, purchased the grand champion carcass beef at the Ottawa County Fair. The carcass was then donated to the Benton-Carroll-Salem Ministerial Association Food Pantry, which feeds over 100 local families per month. The ground beef donated to the food pantry will be divided up amongst those families.
Commitment to community is a cornerstone of the Luckey Farmers mission. We are proud to support not only the Benton-Carroll-Salem Ministerial Association Food Pantry but also the youth 4-H and FFA participants who feed, work and care for the animals to ensure a successful show season.
