Wood County Ohio Bean Crop – July 31, 2017
The U.S. corn crop was rated 61% good/excellent this week, down one point on the week. Ohio corn was up one point, at 57% g/e. National corn silking is at 85% this week and 23% of the crop is in the dough stage, both right in line with their five year averages.
U.S. soybeans saw its first improvement in crop ratings since mid-June, up two points on the week, at 59% good/excellent. Ohio soybeans also improved one point, at 48% g/e. Nationally, 82% of the bean crop is blooming, with 48% setting pods, both slightly ahead of their averages.
